Two products people confuse: Chrome UI vs webpage CSS
Chrome Web Store “themes” typically change the browser frame: toolbar, tab strip, and sometimes the new tab background. ForcedSkin does not do that. It is a content-script theming extension that recolors CSS on websites you visit.
If you wanted a pink toolbar or a custom NTP, this is the wrong listing. If you wanted every docs site, dashboard, and blog to share a light or dark palette, this is the right category. The about page summarizes the platform; this article exists to stop that mix-up in search.
What a webpage theme extension can legally reach
Extensions may style ordinary https pages. They cannot restyle chrome://, the Chrome Web Store, or other protected browser surfaces. Closed Shadow DOM is also out of reach. ForcedSkin documents those limits instead of advertising “theme the entire browser.”

Modes and marketplace still apply only to webpages
Light, Dark, Auto (local time, light ~06:00–18:00), and Off control webpage theming. Palettes come from the theme marketplace. Adapters at adapters tune hostnames. None of those controls paint the browser chrome.
Optional account sync on forcedskin.com moves webpage palettes and adapter lists between devices. It does not install a Chrome theme package. Privacy of local theming is outlined in the privacy policy.
Choose exclusions when a site should keep vendor chrome
Some web apps already ship a complete theme, or they paint UI as a canvas. Use per-site exclusions rather than expecting ForcedSkin to become a Chrome UI skin. Bitmap-only interfaces will not follow CSS palettes.

Will ForcedSkin change my bookmark bar or tab colors?
No. Those belong to Chrome’s UI. ForcedSkin only recolors website CSS.
Can I theme the Chrome Web Store with this extension?
No. The store and chrome:// pages are protected. Extensions cannot restyle them.
Is this a Firefox or Safari theme?
The shipping product described here is a Chromium extension (Chrome, Edge, Arc).
Why do some web apps ignore the extension?
Closed Shadow DOM or canvas/bitmap UI cannot be recolored like CSS. Exclude the site or look for an adapter.
